Already loving it
"Keep in mind, at the end of the day baseball is only a game," - Milton Bradley
Well today was interview and physical day for us position players. Of course, my name was first on the list for the interview session with Wedge and Shapiro, bright and early at 8 a.m. sharp. The meeting is standard criteria every year just so to let you know where you fit in the framework of the ballclub and all.
I've been here for a week already and I'm loving it. The weather has been awesome for the most part except for the showers the last couple of days, but seeing all your teammates back in uniform is the best part. That will put a smile on my face everytime. Wickman takes the cake though every year. As soon as he sees me he says," Hey there little buddy!" And with a grin only he can give, extends his hand to me for a handshake as sincere as can be, and then proceeds to rag me relentlessly in front of half the team to the point I just want to throw my hands up and say 'mercy.' I love every minute of it though because it's one of those moments you can only get being a part of this special TEAM. And I capitalize the word TEAM for good reason because these guys are like a second family to me. And you can't find a better staff to go along with them anywhere.
